In the past, professors had to undergo 24 years of schooling and teachers, beat out all the academic competition, before they could be summoned to a university and become the to-go-to expert in their field. Today, we have high-school drop outs who copy Google and Wikipedia and make videos on Youtube with the stolen content that is viewed by tens of millions. Uniersity degrees become worthless. Meritocray is dead. Merit has collapsed. We are being collapsed as a species. Hence, the road to the Human Farm.
A 5000-year-old culture nation cannot be ensnared by a one-eyed bureaucracy. UNESCO is far too pleasant an employer and French labour law favours a certain work ethic. Paris is okay if someone likes to live there. Many prefer not to open their mouths. In any case, many are very happy and satisfied there because the salaries are also subject to the UN salary guidelines. I remember the discussions about the recognition of "Rachel's Tomb" and when the usual semantics of mass-regulation broke out. But I remember also the years at the beginning of this century when China was very busy protecting its cultural heritage through UNESCO. Most of all, I really enjoyed travelling in China to get them their photos and videos. To me it looks like that the changes caused by irrational geostrategic insanity brought the demand finally to the surface.

This reminds me of the tourism promoted by UNESCO in Paris. Supranational institutions, in my view, lie the idea of equality among nations which is always the deceptive tactic of choice used by stronger nations to exert dominance over weaker ones. The United Nations is controlled by the United States and Europe, while Russia and China seen as troublesome entities. These troublemaker nations create difficulties for African and other Third World nations, who might actually benefit if they followed the directives of the United States. UNESCO was put in Paris primarily to serve the interests of globalists who enjoy luxurious business trips. It was inevitable that the US would eventually rejoin this institution, funded by taxpayers, which is extremely wasteful and excessive but kind of super cool if you are an unelected bureaucrat!
Thanks. I honestly never understood the hotel business industry until I became briefly part of it while in China. Everything is done and booked by the office. Conferences, business meetings, education, consulting... unelected officials love the pecks and perks, on top of their salaries. In Paris, especially: Biggest business trip destination in the world!
