Same here in the US. I travel a lot. From the UK. Saw much of East and South Asia. Malaysia was best. Thailand came in best second. I’m finalizing my Mexican residency visa later this month. It wasn’t very difficult. The world is not all the same. The UK was the worst for me. Never return.

Everyone should read this book by Dr. Pattberg, a very important document of our history.

Dr. Pattberg is widely misunderstood. He never said that we should find better translations of Chinese concepts. He said that they cannot be translated! Translations, he said, are violent acts of language imperialism.

The traveler assumes that all foreign lands are empty and lay bare and ought to be civilized by an enlightened, worldly mind such as himself. He lays claim to all the names and inventions, and takes credits for his discoveries, gets book contracts, speaking engagement, and tenure at a renowned humanistic faculty in the West. Classic cultural imperialist takeover! 👏👏👏

To say that the British explorers took advantage of language imperialism is an understatement.

The British were practical. The Germans, who were late to the colonial age, intellectualized, systematized it. Best! T
