I have friends who lived long years in Japan or Thailand. Asia is much safer than the uK. When it comes to taxes and standard of living, everywhere is better than in the UK.

Alcohol and drugs have saved many from suicide.

Sure. Also, no alcohol and drugs = no art, literature, sex and rockn... nothing really exciting really. T

Naturally as a Kali Yuga advances, and the world gets more and more dystopian, there will be more and more crazy motherfuckers around. I've known more than my share. Those of us who are truly aware of what this world is and how it truly works, are considered to be insane by those that are really insane. Like you stated Thorsten, they appear normal and can function well. I used to be involved with a woman like that. It is a given that the CIA and military Intel agencies, the real shot callers, completely run the entertainment industry for mind control and manipulation of the masses. In fact they created it. Robin Williams was alleged to be a CIA creation and on their payroll. If so, it's a safe bet he was put through the ringer with trauma to effectuate Dissociative Identity Disorder and probably pumped with behavioral modification drugs for good measure. He is not the only one by any means. The classic comic genius of another generation, who greatly influenced Williams and so many others, Johnathan Winters, revealed that he often had to see a Shrink (Psychiatrist) because he would get so wrapped up in the different roles and characters he portrayed he didn't know who he really was. More than likely another sad, creation of the Intelligence miscreants. Factor in that many of these celebrities are transgendered from a very young age and you have the perfect recipe for an apocalyptic mind-fuck. "My country tis of thee, sweet land of felony."

Thanks! Truly exceptional persons the comedians are. Drug abuse is rampant everywhere now. Here in JP, it is with pharmaceuticals. I have a piece on performance enhancing drugs in the sports industry next, about Schwarzenegger, Maradonna, Armstrong... and the other deceivers 😬 T

Dr. P.,

This essay hit a nerve with me, since I have had to navigate around truly insane people for most of my life. The easiest way to conclude where ones own mental health fits on the bell curve is to have to deal with the truly insane.

I will never forget a coworker who once, casually mentioned that he realized he had forgotten to take his meds, because he was starting to hear the voices.

I recall asking why this was an issue.

He replied it was because he had to do what the voices told him to do.

Well, I replied, why do you have to do what they say?

He firmly disregarded my statement, as if talking to someone who didn't have a clue, and asserted he had no choice but to do as commanded.

Yes, having to navigate around the insane is indeed a trip.

Wow, just... wow! Very scary. I have a mental case in my family, so I can relate. Also, a former neighbor had a retarded son who killed birds and once ate a mouse. He was considered dangerous, and probably heard voices in his head, too. He destroyed that family and they divorced and allegedly went crazy from shame. Retard son is still in that facility, 35 years later. 😱💀 If this happened today, he probably had a Youtube channel. 😟

Well crafted! Einstein said that insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. For the not so insane, there is coping. They are stuck in the past, or in patterns or to addictions, or they engage self-destructive behavior. Coping and perseverance are some form of self medication that can go terribly wrong. If only these celebrities you mentioned had consulted with health professionals. But I understand, that the stigma of mental illness is greater than being thought of as dark and eccentric. Now with social media and attention seeking, mental illness is seen as having superpowers. This has always been true though in the music and entertainment industries since the 80s. The more crazy they are, the more people are talking about them. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/my-mental-illness-superpowers-gordon-corsetti

Thanks, I agree that there are heavy coping mechanisms involved. Coping with failure, loss, insecurities, and the fear of being found out (Robin Williams AND Robbie William ;-) I also think that MI are akin to superpowers in this century. Cheers! T

The City of The Old Emperors from the brilliant Never Ending Story (the book not the movie)

Loved that neverending story from my childhood. It was damn scary and not at all meant for kids I think. Momo is another dark masterpiece by M Ende. The gray time stealers scared the colors away from the tapestry and ruined bedtime stories for me and my sis. Brrrr

For me that story would be It's a Good Life by Jerome Bixby. A completely chilling but also perfect analogy for today's cancel culture children.

Oh man you have to check it out - totally up your alley and only a short story. There is a not too bad audio book version of it on YouTube. If it doesn't inspire you to write something about it I will be surprised.

And of course The Old Testament - nothing much scarier than Yahweh and his band of nomadic psychopaths :)

Crazy story telling time, indeed. There are people on X and FB who post simple Bible verses and get deleted/banned over Hatespeech or Spam/Fraud. It is possible that the Old Testament will be complete banned in some Western nations soon. It is already rewritten/deescalated in the Netherlands, France, and Germany -especially the racist/genocidal/mysogenist/semitism parts. Most of it is politally incorrect and unacceptable today.

I am not usually into censorship or book burning but in this case I could be persuaded. Except that if people read it at face value they should see what is going on.

I loved Robin Williams the comic genius, but he was also a deeply troubled creep. R.I.P.

I knew when I saw him once in an interview where he behaved like an ape for no reason really. Later, I read an interview where his ex wife I think said he was like that in real life and that he was much calmer and more composed on stage actually. Then I suspected he as deranged and manic and that that helped him draw eyes and ears. Other great comics were also clinical insane I think (not a doctor), like Jerry Lewis and Jim Carrey. Cheers! T
