Japanese are sitting on a rock between Asia and America. The Europeans abuse them. Where can they go? They put their cards on US-NATO eastwards expansion and hope to get a share of the spoil - like Taiwan and Korea. Not sure though if the Western powers will be kind to Tokyo, once its usefulness expires.
